Origins of Wade Wilson / Deadpool
After being discharged from the military he decides to become an assassin, a killer for hire. When a job goes sideways, he almost drowns but gets saved by a young couple, Wade and Mercedes Wilson. The legend goes that the mercenary attempted to steal Wade’s identity, and when the couple resisted, he murdered them to finally claim Wade’s identity.
While on a job, Wade meets Vanessa Carlyle whom he falls in love with. She becomes the target of Wade’s employers when he refuses to take out one of their targets. Wade’s life takes a turn for the worst when he receives a cancer diagnosis. He dumps Vanessa and joins a programme called Weapon X where an experiment leaves him not only cancer-free, but with a healing factor. Wade was already a dangerous soldier because of his marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat techniques.
There were some concerns about Wade’s powers not being up to standard which results in him being sent off to die a peaceful death at a place called the Hospice. All the people at the Hospice placed bets over who would die first which was called the dead pool. Wade decided to use Deadpool as his moniker.
Life After Hospice, A Tale of Friends, Foes and Family
Wade eventually escapes from the Hospice and frees all of the other people and returns to his field of preference, mercenary work. Wade rekindles his relationship with Vanessa, did a job for Kingpin, and even had a fling with Lady Death, which angered the mad titan, Thanos.
S.H.I.E.L.D recruited Wade to do some shady top secret work, thereafter a team-up with the X-Men brought him face-to-face with Cable. Nick Fury recruited Wade to find a way to defeat the Skrulls, but Norman Osborn intervened and this mission resulted in an epic fail.
Wade learns eventually about his daughter, Ellie. He ties the knot with the Queen of the Undead, Shiklah. The love story came to a sad end when she decided to invade Manhattan.
Wade eventually joins and funds the Avengers. Things take a turn for the worst when Wade kills Agent Phil Coulson and Agent Preston, an order from a sleeper agent who made his way into the team.
