Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Unsheathes An October Release Date In New Trailer

An October release date for Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 – The Conflict was revealed alongside a new trailer during Anime Expo on the weekend. While the trailer is mostly a montage of Soul Society’s captains unleashing their Bankai abilities, there was a brief teaser of the upcoming clash between series protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach before the screen faded to black.

In a separate video, the production staff behind the next season of Bleach revealed a few more details about the show, including how it will make heavier use of CGI and will also feature new scenes not originally found in the manga source material. The two previous seasons of Bleach also featured additional scenes, and once again, series creator Tite Kubo was involved in the production of this expanded content. One exciting development here is that fans will get to see a captain’s Bankai that was never revealed in the manga.

“Part 3 will show some brand-new, never-before-seen Bleach content,” chief series director Tomohisha Taguchi said. “We worked with Kubo-sensei again to create new scenes that would supplement the stories covered in the original manga.”

Series director Hikaru Murata added that the aim for the third season is to “maintain the animation quality established by everyone from Part 2,” while using more CGI to create “epic” battle scenes in this story arc. This particular stretch of Bleach is notable for having several of its biggest and best fights, as major characters go all out in a last-ditch effort to stop Yhwach from killing the Soul King who governs the fragile balance of existence.

Bleach fans can also look forward to a brand-new game, as Melty Blood developer Tamsoft is working on a 3D action game called Bleach: Rebirth of Souls for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. In case you missed out on it when it returned in 2022, the first season of Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War is now available on Blu-ray.
