MONTREAL (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian theatrical presenter Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group and the German recorded music giant BMG announced a partnership that includes catalog management and a collaboration on a range of music-oriented initiatives.
Under the terms of the agreement, BMG will oversee the management of Cir du Soleil’s catalog of original scores, soundtracks, and new album releases, as well as the music publishing home administering its compositions and jointly creating new songs and releases.
The partnership will be led by Cirque du Soleil STUDIO, Cirque du Soleil’s new music division, which will help to service the company’s existing enthusiasts while attracting new fans to the brand.
The first release under the new partnership with be the soundtrack to SONGBLAZERS, Cirque du Soleil’s latest theatrical production focused on country music and its stars.
The album, recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, was overseen by Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Tashian and features the cast of the show performing with country music artists/
Upcoming projects include new Cirque du Soleil soundtracks and releases with artists and songwriters inspired by Cirque du Solei productions.
