Eddie Sears Named Executive Vice President, Creative Of Republic Records

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – Republic Records has appointed Eddie Sears as the new Executive Vice President (EVP) of Creative, according to an announcement made by President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jim Roppo. Based at the Republic Records headquarters in New York, Sears will oversee the label’s Creative team and work closely with the label’s roster to shape visual presentation, branding, and storytelling.

In his new role, Sears and his team will be responsible for developing creative strategies, packaging design, visuals, photoshoots, logo creation, and immersive fan experiences.

Originally from Italy, Sears served as Creative Director at Ultra Records for nearly a decade, where he worked with artists like Black Coffee, Benny Benassi, Sofi Tukker, and Steve Aoki. Before joining Ultra, he ran his creative agency in Milan, handling creative direction for various sectors such as fashion, sports, and consumer products.

In addition to his creative direction work, Sears is also a singer, songwriter, producer, and visual artist under the moniker Rocket Pengwin. His music has amassed millions of streams, and he has performed at major events like Governor’s Ball and Nameless.

Roppo praised Sears: “Eddie doesn’t just dig into the music; he completely entrenches himself within each artist’s vision. His spirit, energy, and creative expertise are unmatched, and I’m honored to welcome him to the Republic Records family.”

Sears added: “Jim Roppo, Monte, and Avery Lipman know the importance of creativity, and they’ve placed it at the forefront of Republic Records. Moreover, they’ve given us the latitude and support to make an impact. It’s an honor to work with such an incredible team.”

This move comes after Republic’s restructuring in March under Universal Music Group’s East Coast division. The labels were centralized under the operational hub known as Republic Corps, which Roppo now leads.
