There’s nothing more exciting than a good trailer for an anime you’ve been waiting to watch. However, anime trailers can also serve to hype up stories that might otherwise be unheard of, such as the upcoming anime Haigakura, releasing in October 2024. The story is popular in Japan but hasn’t managed to spread to other countries quite yet.
Because there is little known about Haigakura outside of Japan, the team released a trailer to hype up the story. Though the trailer is in Japanese, it shows a powerful story with colorful and eye-catching graphics that are good enough to hook most anime fans. There are many unique characters, and the fight scenes look epic.
The story for Haigakura is set in a world where the four gods known as the Four Evil, aren’t behaving normally.
Interestingly, despite the action, Haigakura is classified as a Josei, which is a genre that caters to women, generally over the age of 18. Other Josei include anime like Bye Bye, Earth, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, and Princess Jellyfish.
In addition to the trailer, a few of the cast for Haigakura were revealed as well, including Junko Takeuchi (Digimon Adventure) as Young Ichiyo, Akira Sasanuma (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) as Shungei, Tatsumaru Tachibana (The Apothecary Diaries) as Gaishi, Atsushi Tamaru (Sword Art Online II) as Gas Mask, and Kazutomi Yamamoto (Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?) as Rabbit Mask.
Typhoon Graphics (Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools ) is the studio behind Haigakura’s anime adaptation. Additionally, Junichi Yamamoto (Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion) is set to be the director.
Though the Haigakura manga is popular enough to earn an anime adaptation and has sold over 1.3 million copies as of August 2023, the manga itself has never been officially translated before.
The story for Haigakura is set in a world where the four gods known as the Four Evil, aren’t behaving normally. Two have escaped, and it’s up to song officers known as Kashikan to confine them. The main character, Ichiyo, doesn’t capture the gods for honor or pride, but to return to a peaceful life.
To help keep the balance, two people were forced to replace the two gods that escaped, including Ichiyo’s foster father. Desperate to have his father back and return everything to normal, Ichiyo becomes a Kashikan and joins a mission to search for gods.
Haigakura is set to air sometime in October 2024.
However, it ends up seeming almost impossible, to the point that the Kashikans are starting to wonder if there are even gods in Japan anymore.
The series is still ongoing with 16 seasons as of August 2024. Though the Haigakura manga is popular enough to earn an anime adaptation and has sold over 1.3 million copies as of August 2023, the manga itself has never been officially translated before. It remains to be seen if an English translation will come out on the heels of the anime production or not.
Haigakura is set to air sometime in October 2024. Though the release date is only a few months out, there is still a lot of ambiguity around the series, including the exact release date and where it will be released to, or even if the series is planning to release to international audiences at the same time.
