Galar Starters And Dynamax Pokemon Debut In Pokemon Go Soon



Pokemon Go’s Max Out seasonal event begins in September and will bring the Pokemon Sword & Shield starters and Dynamax Pokemon to the game.

A new teaser trailer shows Sword & Shield’s Scorbunny, Grookey, and Sobble walking the streets before a Dynamax Pokemon follows in pursuit of the Galar starter trio.

Pokemon Go’s Max Out seasonal update will allow players to choose Scorbunny, Grookey, or Sobble in a new Special Research that will branch into all-new story paths.

Players will be able to participate in Dynamax one-star Max Battles. The Pokemon to appear in one-star Max Battles are:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle
  • Skwovet
  • Wooloo

These Pokemon that are caught in Max Battles, alongside their evolutions, can be Dynamaxed only in Max Battles. Shiny variants are also available to catch.

All of the Pokemon to make their debut from the Galar region in the Max Out update are:

  • Grookey
  • Thwackey
  • Rillaboom
  • Scorbunny
  • Raboot
  • Cinderace
  • Sobble
  • Drizzile
  • Inteleon
  • Dreepy
  • Drakloak
  • Dragapult

The Pokemon that will more frequently appear in wild encounters are:

  • Grookey
  • Scorbunny
  • Sobble
  • Skwovet
  • Wooloo
  • Dreepy

Max Out Special Research will be available to all trainers at the start of the event and will task players to obtain Max Particles. Right now, players can start collecting Max Particles showing up at Power Spots on the map for rewards.

The new season brings new accessories, battle cups focused on Galar Pokemon, attack damage changes, and more.

The Max Out season goes live on September 3 and runs until December 3.

Pokemon Sword & Shield was the first mainline Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch. Sword & Shield is set within the Galar region with new Pokemon, locales, and characters. One of the newest mechanics it brought to the franchise is Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon, massive Pokemon towering as large as skyscrapers that players could team up to fight in raids for juicy rewards.
