How To Make Wine In Stardew Valley

Turning your crops into artisan goods in Stardew Valley can increase how much they are worth and is one of the best methods is turning fruits into wine. Creating wine requires special equipment and time, but it does boost the sell price of these goods pretty drastically, especially if you have the capacity to do it in large quantities. Here’s how to make wine–and more money in the process.

How to make wine and kegs

Placing fruit into a keg will produce wine after 7 days.
Placing fruit into a keg will produce wine after 7 days.

Wine is made by placing fruits into a keg and waiting 7 days for it to process. A keg can be made using 30 wood, 1 copper bar, 1 iron bar, and 1 oak resin once you reach farming level 8. Any fruit turned into wine is worth 3x the base value of the fruit.

How to make high-quality wine

All fruit becomes normal quality wine, so using high-quality fruit won’t increase the value. If vegetables are placed into kegs, they will turn into juice, with a few others turning into specific items, like hops becoming pale ale. If you have the artisan profession, wine is worth an additional 40%.

Unlocking the cellar

You can increase the quality of wine once you unlock the cellar, which comes with the third main house upgrade. You can put casks in the cellar, which will age the wine when placed inside. Silver quality requires 14 days, Gold requires 28 days, and Iridium requires 56 days. Silver is worth 25% more, Gold 50% more, and Iridium 100% more. While the time required makes the value proposition imperfect for everyone, if you are producing wine at a high-enough volume, it’s worth filling the casks with wine, but not necessarily saving wine until there is an open cask.
