When it comes to Halloween-centered fare, What We Do in the Shadows is of a different variety than your typical vampire-centered production. The show follows the blueprint set out by the movie that came before it, giving it a mockumentary style that brings a strong helping of comedy to the undead’s nightly pursuits.
The show centers around what’s known as the Vampire Residence, an old home in Staten Island where roommates and vampires Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) live alongside energy vampire Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) and Nandor’s familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén).
What We Do in the Shadows not only sees the bloodsuckers engaging in their sinister rituals but also follows the mundane ins and outs of dealing with roommates, zoning ordinances, and jobs.
