Minister of investment, trade and industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz took to Facebook to reveal JAC Motors, a Chinese manufacturer of commercial vehicles, plans to invest in Malaysia.

“This investment will not only create more high-skilled jobs, but also strengthen local capabilities in the production of electric and hybrid pickup trucks and commercial vehicles,” the MITI minister wrote in his post, adding that JAC Motors has an intention to make Malaysia a hub for the production and export of commercial vehicles to the ASEAN region.

While JAC Motors is primarily known for its commercial vehicles which include pick-up trucks, vans as well as delivery trucks, the company also offers passenger vehicles ranging from sedans to hatchbacks and SUVs.
