On August 8, a Netflix spokesperson delivered a statement to The Wrap. “One of our post-production partners has been compromised and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online,” the Netflix statement read. “Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.”
Although the leak has been traced to IYUNO, a “Preferred Fulfillment Partner” that Netflix outsources tasks like audio dubbing and subtitling their titles to, many industry insiders have pointed to a deliberate security breach of the third party vendor. IYUNO, who also works with Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount, NBCUniversal, and RIOT Games, to name a few, confirmed a data breach, but as of this writing its unclear whether we’ve seen the full extent of the leaks, or if more will surface online.
