Notorious Convicted Killer Gets Peacock Series To Tell His Story

It’s been more than 20 years since the headlines were covered in one woman’s name – that of Laci Peterson, a married woman from Modesto, California, who went missing on Christmas Eve. Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant at the time of her disappearance and, as is typically the route in cases such as these, the prime suspect was her husband, Scott Peterson. After a trial process, Scott Peterson, who has continued to maintain his innocence, was found guilty of Laci’s kidnapping and death but now, for the first time in two decades, he’s telling his side of the story in Peacock’s Face to Face with Scott Peterson.

The streamer’s latest true crime-centered series will shift the focus to Scott Peterson, whose case has recently been picked up by the Los Angeles Innocence Project. With fresh eyes and a different outlook, the Los Angeles Innocence Project is out to prove that Scott Peterson wasn’t the killer of his wife and their unborn son, Conner, and Face to Face with Scott Peterson will catch audiences up with what they’ve found so far. 

In Face to Face with Scott Peterson, viewers will also hear from Peterson in his first interview over the last two decades as he chats with the production’s director, Shareen Anderson. Anderson has an interesting tie to the Peterson case as she previously served as an executive producer on the 2017 A&E docuseries The Murder of Laci Peterson, making the Peacock production the creative’s second project with ties to the infamous murder case.

Along with those close conversations between Peterson and Anderson, Face to Face with Scott Peterson will also feature a slew of interviews from those who know the case and people at the center of it best. Included in the lineup will be Peterson’s sister-in-law, Janey Peterson, former Modesto Police Department lead detective Al Brocchini, detective Jon Buehler, Scott’s ex-defense attorney Lara Yeretsian, and former ABC News Producer Mike Gudgell.

So, what can we expect as the three-part docuseries plays out on Peacock on August 20? For starters, Face to Face with Scott Peterson will take things back to that fatefully tragic day in 2002 when Laci Peterson went missing and follow the stranger-than-fiction events that followed. For those who may not remember, Scott Peterson claimed that he was out fishing on the afternoon when Laci Peterson disappeared, an alibi that would both help and hurt his cause when Laci and Conner’s bodies washed up along a shoreline.

Along with those close conversations between Peterson and Anderson, Face to Face with Scott Peterson will also feature a slew of interviews from those who know the case and people at the center of it best.

There were other even more fishy things about Scott Peterson’s defense, including the revelation of romantic affairs with several different women, certain bits of evidence that traced Laci to his fishing boat, and the disguise he was wearing as well as the contents inside his car when he was eventually arrested. Whether you consider these pieces of the puzzle as damning evidence or can write them off, it will definitely be intriguing to watch Peterson and the rest of the folks talk about them in front of the camera in Face to Face with Scott Peterson.
