ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, whose real name is Dequantes Lamar, has died. He was 33.

His passing was confirmed by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, who said they performed an autoposy on September 6, 2024.

News of his passing was first reported by the noted hip-hop blogger Thugger Daily, who shared the news on social media.

TMZ subsequently released an audio recording of a 911 call reportedly from Lamar’s girlfriend, Amber Williams who said she discovered Lamar’s body on sofa.

Lamar first made a name for himself in the Atlanta trap scene in 2011 and achieved mainstream success two years later with the release of “Type of Way.”

He went on to record hits such as “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” which peaked at 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015.

The following year, he sued his label, Think It’s A Game, over allegedly unpaid royalties but ended up settling out of court.

His most recent music came in 2022 with the release of his EP Family & Mula through his own label, Rich Homie Entertainment.
