However, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil show ended in 2018, and a little over a year later, Disney+ launched. Initially, though, Cox had no faith that his character could return on the new streaming service: he found out about the original show’s cancellation in early 2018, and while Kevin Feige inquired about bringing the characters back into the MCU in 2020, it wasn’t clear what that would look like.

Notably, the cast for the Daredevil show had stopped filming back in 2016, so it was a very long four years before Cox got the call from Feige.
