STOCHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — The Country Music Association announced that Joakim Richardson, Station Manager, Go Country Sweden, has been presented with a 2024 CMA International Country Broadcaster Award.

Richardson was presented with the award by Christer Modig (CEO of Viaplay Radio), alongside Country artists Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkins at the CMA Reception prior to Morgan Wallen’s headlining concert at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The award recognized recognizes outstanding achievement by a radio broadcaster or syndicated radio reporter in service of American country music outside of the United States.

Richardson was recognized for his efforts to develop new opportunities for international and domestic country artists in Sweden.

Those efforts include initiatives such as “Go Country Live” and “Welcome to Sweden” and for his role as a prominent member of the CMA Nordic Task Force.

Richardson is the first Swedish broadcaster to receive the CMA’s ICB Award.

CMA will present the remaining 2024 CMA International Awards throughout the year.
