Since debuting on Netflix in 2019, Kengan Ashura has left quite an impression on fans. The series is based on the popular manga written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by artist Daromeon. The manga originally ran from 2012 to 2018, featuring 27 volumes.

Despite the apparent bloodlust and kinetic fight sequences, character development has always been a key aspect to the Netflix series.

The Netflix series is produced by Larx Entertainment, which is based out of Tokyo, Japan. Kengan Ashura has been one of Netflix’s most popular anime since it first hit the streaming service. The series follows Kazuo Yamashita, an ordinary fifty-six year old man who is summoned by the chairman of his company and hired as a manager of a gladiator. The inner turmoil of the fighters gives deeper meaning to each punch that is thrown and every drop of blood that is spilled. As the series progresses, viewers begin to understand how each fighter became the fighter that they are today.

Kengan Ashura Season 2 Part 1 picked up after Ohma’s drama-filled victory in the first round of the tournament. But the win didn’t come without its consequences. Ohma eventually succumbed to his own injuries in the fight and fell into a coma.
