Uncovering the deeper story being told in The Casting of Frank Stone often requires scouring corners and side paths. To learn about the backstories of different characters and fill in the blanks of the narratives, finding collectibles is an essential part of the experience. One set of collectibles, Frank Stone’s Trinkets, give you a little more insight into the psyche of The Casting of Frank Stone’s murderous villain, and they’re the toughest items to find in the game–which is why we’ve created this guide, identifying the location of all 12. You’ll need to get them all to earn the Plunderer’s Instinct Achievement/Trophy.
It’s worth noting that you can only get 11 trinkets on your first run through the game–Trinkets 5 and 6 are split up by a choice of which path to take through the game, and if you pick one, you can’t get to the other. Also making things a little weird is Trinket 4, which is found out of order from the others. You’ll need a key from earlier in the chapter to reach it, and you’ll find more trinkets once you’ve got the key, which might explain why it gets counted so early.
This guide will go through the trinkets in order of when you’ll encounter the items you need to unlock them, so you’ll find them counted out of order below. Note that you can always open the tool box, usually found near a trinket in every chapter, to keep track of which ones you have. Some trinkets can also be be nabbed in later chapters if you miss them in earlier ones, if they take place in the same physical space.
Finally, keep in mind that this guide contains spoilers. We recommend you play through The Casting of Frank Stone once blind before looking up where to find its collectibles. On a second playthrough, you’ll get the Plunderer’s Instinct upgrade, which highlights trinkets when they’re nearby, and access to the Cutting Room Floor feature in the menu, which lets you return to individual scenes in the story.
