The Crow Director Slams Reboot Flop With Awful Rotten Tomatoes Score


There are no doubt many fans who also feel that way. However, there would certainly have been others who would have been eager to praise The Crow reboot if it had simply felt like it was made with passion.

But many on Rotten Tomatoes feel the movie was a mere attempt to cash in on the name value of the original. Proyas shared that belief.

“I thought the remake was a cynical cash-grab,” Proyas said in response to The Crow remake’s abysmal opening week at the box office. “Not much cash to grab it seems.”

It also likely did not help that The Crow still has to compete with theater space while two of the year’s most popular movies are still running. Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine both continue to break box office records
