NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has announced a partnership with Beatdapp to “complement and enhance” its existing streaming fraud detection capabilities. Beatdapp, a company specializing in music streaming fraud detection, has secured $17 million in funding so far this year and is known for its technology that analyzes large datasets to identify fraudulent streams. In 2023 alone, Beatdapp analyzed over 2 trillion streams and 20 trillion data points.
The MLC, which has distributed over $2 billion in royalties since April 2021, will now incorporate Beatdapp’s services to bolster its internal processes. Andrew Mitchell, Chief Analytics and Automation Officer at The MLC emphasized the organization’s crucial role in tackling streaming fraud, stating, “The MLC is uniquely positioned within the music industry to contribute significantly to addressing streaming fraud.” He also expressed pride in working with Beatdapp to further support The MLC’s 43,000+ members.”
Beatdapp’s Co-CEOs, Morgan Hayduk and Andrew Batey, echoed this sentiment, noting, “The MLC plays a vital role in the music industry, and we’re proud to collaborate with them and enhance their continuous efforts to combat streaming fraud.” They highlighted that Beatdapp’s technology, informed by the best trust and safety solutions across various online sectors, is tailored to address the unique challenges of music streaming fraud.
Earlier this year, Beatdapp formed a strategic partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) and collaborated with AI music startup Boomy to analyze its distributed catalog. Beatdapp’s advisory board includes music industry veterans like former Warner Music SVP Howie Singer and Adam Parness, the former Global Head of Music Publishing at Spotify. Recently, Beatdapp also partnered with Beatport, a digital music service specializing in electronic dance music.
