Market research firm Circana has released a new report offering insight into the state of games-based consumerism in the United States. Executive director Mat Piscatella posted the report on social media and revealed the top 10 video games by weekly active users for the week ending on August 3 for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Riot Games’ Valorant made the list on PlayStation and Xbox at rank 9 and 7, respectively. The First Descendant had a great start last month when it launched, but has been slowly slipping down the charts. It’s barely hanging on around PlayStation and Xbox, while it has disappeared from the Steam most-played chart completely.
Over on Steam, 7 Days to Die and Path of Exile entered the charts from their previous ranking of 11 and 12, respectively. Once Human also has impressive legs, still in the top half of the charts on Steam even almost a month after launch. Additionally, Piscatella noted that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga saw a massive 8.5x spike in engagement due to it being added to Playstation Plus.
