“Chk Chk Boom” Music Video Drops: Stray Kids Stans Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Star

K-pop stars Stray Kids have unveiled their latest single “Chk Chk Boom,” featuring a star-studded music video with Deadpool and Wolverine stars, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, who also happen to be fans of the group. It was teased earlier this week that the Marvel stars have been recruited for the shoot.

The track, released July 19, is the lead single for the group’s new mini-album ATE. ATE marks Stray Kids’ second release of 2024, following their English single “Lose My Breath” featuring award-winning singer Charlie Puth.

The music video opens with Jackman as Wolverine trying to read the weather and gets bored. Enter Ryan Reynolds as himself to continue a news bulletin on a fake news program. Reynolds eventually dons the Deadpool gear sans make-up later and jokingly asks if he could join the group. Outside of the superhero skits, Stray Kids delivers another one of their trademark kinetic performances, this one across a cityscape.

While this collaboration might seem strange, fans might remember just a few years ago when Reynolds befriended the group and even sent member Bang Chan a signed bottle of his branded Aviation gin.

In addition to these cameos, Stray Kids are contributing an original song titled “Slash” to the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack, which drops later this month.
